Years of working in my psychoanalytic clinic with anorectic and bulimic women immersed me in the jouissance of their suffering, provoking my desire to paint them in different forms and sizes, and in a variety of media and moods ranging from the very concrete to the very abstract.  With paints and other materials on canvas, on wood, on paper and recently with acid in stone, I began to map the Real of their passion, as I began to uncover something more than themselves hiding behind the Reality of their symptoms.  You might say, I carried psychoanalysis into the Studio.
